Boston is the capital and most populous city of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and of the region of New England. The name is derived from the English town of Boston in Lincolnshire on the east coast of England. When the Puritans, an English Protestant settlers arrived in 1630, they named the municipality Boston, from where they came from. Boston is one of the oldest municipalities in the United States, and played a big part in American history through the American Revolution. The Boston Navy Yard used to be called the Charlestown Navy Yard. Established in in 1801, this is the oldest shipbuilding facilities in the United States Navy.
The Garden is a modern multi-purpose arena and home to the National Basketball Association champions Boston Celtics as well as the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League.
I have fond memories watching the NBA championships and cheering for Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics.
This is Quincy Market, built in 1824 and opened in 1826. From selling local produce, it has since become a festival marketplace. At the background is the Custom House, built by the Federal Government in 1849. The Tower was added in 1915, and has since been a recognizable Bostonian skyline.
